I'm the owner and operator of Optimist, a brand new 26' Fishing Machine. We went all out to custom-design a vessel that will take our guests to the prime BC coastal fishing grounds - quickly, safely, and in absolute comfort.

I've spent my life here on the west coast, with over 10 years as a professional guide (5 of which were at the "West Coast Fishing Club", a popular fishing resort located in the Queen Charlottes). I'm also a commercial scuba diver and Vice President of the Sooke Salmon Enhancement Society.

There's no more exciting and rewarding place to fish than B.C.'s beautiful, bountiful west coast.

We just got back from a great fishing trip off the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Boarded "Optimist" at 10 a.m., a spanking new 26' aluminum Fishing Machine, and simply the best boat in the area, and fast!! We couldn't even get all our lines into the water when we were hammered, and after a few blistering runs and primal screams we subdued a bad boy 24 pounder. This pattern repeated for the rest of the day.

Second day out we came across 2 huge Humpback whales having an all-you-can-eat buffet. Incredible!!
We headed for the Kill Zone that we fished the day before, and nailed 2 more Kings. Could've got more but had a ferry to catch.
